Foundation stabilization, mountain station in Tyrol

The mountain station in the Tyrolean Alps, located at an altitude of 2,616 meters, is situated in a region with unique geological conditions, characterized by the melting of permafrost soils. These natural conditions led to problematic cavity formation in the subsoil, which significantly impaired the load-bearing capacity of the mountain station's foundations.

Foundation stabilization, mountain station in Tyrol

To stabilize the foundations, the resulting cavities/voids were first filled with gravel. In a second step, the subsoil was permanently solidified using injectable self-drilling anchors. The PU resin WEBAC PURseal M S, developed specifically for such applications, was injected to a depth of approximately 3 meters below the foundations.

The product used, WEBAC PURseal M S, has official DIBt approval and is characterized by its adjustable reaction time and high compressive strength. These properties made it ideal for the demanding application in the alpine region.

The successful application of WEBAC PURseal M S enabled the permanent stabilization of the mountain station and its foundations—despite the challenging conditions of the permafrost.

  • PU Injection Resins

    WEBAC® PURseal M S

    • Consolidation Line

WEBAC PURseal M S is a fast-curing PU injection resin with DIBt approval for environmental compatibility when in contact with soil and groundwater. It cures into a compact, high-strength material without contact with water, while it reacts with a slight foaming effect when in contact with water. The resin is used for subsoil stabilization and rock reinforcement, as well as for securing foundation pits and tunnel structures.
