Joint Sealing

Sealing of construction joints and expansion joints

In the construction industry, joints in buildings are planned in such a way that they compensate for stresses, thereby preventing cracks. For these expansion and movement joints, it is important that the material used to seal the joints can absorb the movement of the joints without being damaged, while reliably sealing the joints. Joint sealing can be carried out in several ways: In new buildings, injection hoses and swelling sealings are installed in construction joints, while sealing tapes are used for external strip-shaped joint sealing.

Injection material is often used for the remedial sealing of construction and expansion joints. Injection materials based on polyurethane, which react with limited expansion, or based on polyacrylic, which have very good expansion and adhesive properties.
