Sealing leaky anchor heads on sheet pile walls

Anchor heads for sheet pile walls play an important role in specialized civil engineering: They transfer the tensile forces of the sheet pile wall into the subsoil via anchor rods, thereby helping to secure Foundation Pits and riverbank areas. If anchor heads are leaking, groundwater can seep into the Foundation Pit and significantly disrupt the construction process.

Foundation Pit Sealing
Sealing leaky anchor heads on sheet pile walls

In this project, anchor heads with lateral leaks were specifically fitted with suitable packers. WEBAC 150 was then injected using a diaphragm pump. The PU injection foam resin rapidly foams upon contact with water. This allowed the leaking anchor heads to be effectively sealed. The remaining construction work was able to continue without interruption.

    WEBAC® 150

    • Classic Line

WEBAC 150 is a versatile PU injection foam resin (SPU) that is particularly valued for its safe and easy application. Upon contact with water, it cures with significant expansion to form a surface-tight, firm-elastic foam with a very fine-cell structure. This makes it suitable for the rapid, temporary closure and sealing of pressurized water-bearing cracks, cavities/voids, and leaks in building construction, civil engineering, bridge construction, and tunnel construction.
