Extensive waterproofing work was required during the renovation of a castle in the Bavarian Forest. The building has served various purposes throughout its history—including as a residence, a resort, and a clinic—and consequently features a complex historical structure.

Sealing the masonry in contact with the ground presented a particular challenge. To protect against moisture penetration, a curtain injection operation was carried out in the adjacent soil. WEBAC 240, an injection gel used to create an external, waterproof barrier, was employed for this purpose. The gel curtain injection effectively protected the historic masonry against moisture without interfering with the visible building structure. The measure thus made an important contribution to the long-term preservation of the building.
Acrylat Gels
WEBAC 240 is a low-viscosity, fast-setting polyacrylate injection gel with National Technical Approval from DIBt (B-concentration 2%). After curing, it forms a waterproof, firm-elastic gel that reliably absorbs dynamic and mechanical stresses. It is particularly suitable for curtain injection—either in the subsoil immediately adjacent to the structural element or within the existing building structure—as well as for subsoil stabilization and waterproofing or damp proof courses (dpc).
