Injection work in accordance with ZTV-Ing using WEBAC 1405
The Nuremberg–Ingolstadt ICE route was completed in time for the 2006 World Cup. The direct route and maximum speeds of over 300 km/h reduce the travel time between Nuremberg and Munich by around 30 minutes. The 89-kilometer route comprises nine tunnels with a total length of 27 kilometers—six of which were constructed using mining techniques and three using open construction methods.

During the construction of the tunnels on the Nuremberg–Ingolstadt ICE line, injection tubes were installed in the construction joints and injected with WEBAC 1405 PU injection resin, which has been tested in accordance with ZTV-ING and RiLi SIB.
In some areas, construction-related gravel pockets appeared, which were specifically filled and permanently sealed. To prevent uncontrolled drainage of the injection material, the construction joints were dammed in advance. The material used for this had to meet extreme requirements, as it had to withstand the enormous suction effect of trains passing at speeds of over 300 km/h.
The WEBAC 4525 epoxy filler used met these requirements thanks to its adhesive tensile strength of over 5 MPa (N/mm²) – even on damp or wet substrates. In addition, both WEBAC PU injection foam resin and WEBAC 1405 PU injection resin were used for crack repair in accordance with ZTV-ING.
The injection work on the tunnels was successfully completed at the end of 2005, and the line has been in regular ICE service since June 2006.

PU Injection Resins
WEBAC 1405 is a low-viscosity, CE-certified PU injection resin. It cures with constant volume to form an elastic, limited-elasticity resin. Upon contact with water, it forms a uniform, closed, and watertight pore structure. It is used for closing, sealing, and limited-elasticity filling of dry, damp, or water-bearing cracks, as well as for sealing cavities/voids in building construction, civil engineering, bridge construction, tunnel construction, and shaft construction.
Epoxy Putties and Adhesives
WEBAC 4525 is a non-drip, universal epoxy putty. It cures into a solid mass with high chemical resistance and can be applied even on damp substrates and in areas exposed to water. It is particularly suitable for bonding mineral building materials and for crack sealing.
