PU Injection Foam Resins
WEBAC® 157
- Classic Line
The Warsaw Metro was put into operation in 1995, following initial plans dating back to the 1920s. Since then, it has provided around 1.6 million residents with a fast and efficient underground connection between the north, south, and city center of Warsaw. As part of a comprehensive expansion, the network was to be extended by another metro line over 20 kilometers in length.

During tunnel construction, geological conditions, in particular water veins with alluvial sand, repeatedly caused leaks in the building fabric. To ensure the tightness of the structures and stabilize the alluvial sand, PU injection foam resins from WEBAC (including WEBAC 157) were injected in a targeted manner. The resins were used both to repair leaks and to seal new structures.
Based on positive experiences, around 8.5 tons of WEBAC PU injection resins, including WEBAC 1403 and WEBAC 157, were also used in the construction of diaphragm walls and the sealing of structural joints. These measures contributed significantly to the permanent sealing of various tunnel sections.
In addition, specialized sealing was carried out in sensitive areas such as stairways and elevator shafts. Since 2000, the Warsaw Metro has also been using WEBAC injection systems for retroactive sealing in the event of leaks.
To date, a total of around 20 tons of WEBAC injection products have been used in the construction and maintenance of the Warsaw Metro. The watertightness of the tunnel structures is based both on the professional execution by specialized construction companies and on the reliable performance of the injection resins used.
PU Injection Foam Resins
WEBAC 157 is an elastic PU injection foam resin (SPU) with a very fine-pored foam structure. Upon contact with water, this low-viscosity material forms a surface-tight, adaptable foam. It is suitable for temporarily closing, sealing, and filling cracks, cavities/voids, and gaps in masonry, concrete, and natural stone—e.g., in shaft construction and water management structures—and can also be used where there is limited movement of structural components.
PU Injection Resins
WEBAC 1403 is a long-track-record proven PU injection resin, particularly valued for its safe and controlled application. Upon contact with water, it cures into a closed, waterproof, and dimensionally stable resin with a fine pore structure. It is suitable for sealing, crack injection, and stabilizing masonry and concrete, and is used for post-construction damp proof courses (dpc) against capillary rising damp.
