Dispersion for Walls and Floors
WEBAC® 5611
- Classic Line
The House of World Cultures in Berlin is an architecturally striking building from the 1950s. Because of its shape, it is also known as the “Pregnant Oyster.” The building was renovated between 2023 and 2024.

The following measures included work on the exterior stairs, which had to be waterproofed beneath the new natural stone cladding:

WEBAC 5611 is a bitumen-acrylate dispersion that forms a durable, waterproof, thin-film seal between the concrete and the stair treads. A total of approximately 650 kg of material was applied, creating a durable and reliable moisture barrier in this high-traffic area.

Dispersion for Walls and Floors
WEBAC 5611 is a reactive bitumen-acrylate dispersion that adheres well to a wide variety of substrates and has crack-bridging properties. The hydrophobic effect of the bitumen component creates a waterproof seal with reliable protection against leaching by salts harmful to structures. This makes WEBAC 5611 suitable for surface waterproofing against hydrostatic pressure in building construction, civil engineering, and historic preservation.
