Renovation in winter, brick viaduct

A historic brick viaduct, built between 1911 and 1913, showed significant damage, particularly on the undersides of the arches. This damage included pronounced cracks and, in some cases, large cavities/voids, which jeopardized the stability and durability of the structure.

Renovation in winter, brick viaduct

The brick viaduct required extensive renovation due to significant damage.

The challenge in the restoration lay in the specific requirements for the injection material used. It had to meet the following criteria:

  • Water-compatible
  • Structural
  • Usable at low temperatures (renovation in winter, January/February)
  • CE-certified

The PU injection resin WEBAC 1660 proved to be the suitable material, meeting all requirements. The crack and surface injection was successfully carried out, thereby ensuring the viaduct’s load-bearing capacity and stability in the long term.

    WEBAC® 1660

    • Classic Line

WEBAC 1660 is a CE-certified PU injection resin with high compressive and bending tensile strength. It foams slightly upon contact with water and, under dry conditions, cures into a virtually pore-free, solid, and waterproof material. It is used for sealing, bonding, and structural solidification of concrete and masonry; for filling cavities/voids and gravel pockets; and for structural bonding of dry voids in rubble masonry and loose rock.
