Post-construction damp proof course, Villa Buchhof

The Buchhof in Bad Reichenhall, also known as “Villa Buchhof,” was converted from a former farmstead into a palatial estate. The property took on its current form in 1929 and is now a two-story villa with eight rooms and a spacious garden measuring approximately 5,000 m².

Sealing of Masonry
Post-construction damp proof course, Villa Buchhof

During extensive renovation work, Villa Buchhof required special protective measures against moisture in the masonry. In particular, the foundation walls, made of solid brickwork between 40 and 70 cm thick, required a post-construction damp proof course (dpc).

WEBAC 1403 polyurethane resin, a proven product that has been developed and produced since 1978, was used for sustainable waterproofing. Thanks to its low viscosity, WEBAC 1403 penetrates deep into the finest structures of the masonry and reacts with the moisture present, creating a flexible and reliable seal. Due to its high performance, this resin can also be used with slightly pressurized water and has a long processing time, which makes it particularly practical to use. The specially developed accelerator WEBAC B14 is available to speed up the curing of the material if necessary. In addition, WEBAC 1403 has been tested for use in drinking water areas and impresses with a user-friendly mixing ratio of 1:1 (parts by volume).

Products Used

  • PU Injection Resins

    WEBAC® 1403

    • Classic Line

WEBAC 1403 is a long-track-record proven PU injection resin, particularly valued for its safe and controlled application. Upon contact with water, it cures into a closed, waterproof, and dimensionally stable resin with a fine pore structure. It is suitable for sealing, crack injection, and stabilizing masonry and concrete, and is used for post-construction damp proof courses (dpc) against capillary rising damp.

  • PU Injection Resins

    WEBAC® B14

    • Classic Line

WEBAC B14 is a hardener for certain PU injection resins. It shortens the pot life and curing time of these resins and is particularly recommended for use at low temperatures.
