Post-construction damp proof course (dpc), Evangelical Church in Scheidt

The Protestant church in the Scheidt district of Saarbrücken, a simple little village church situated on a small hill, dates back in part to the 18th century. The compact nave, with only three windows, was later extended to include a bell tower. While the tower remains unplastered, both the interior and the façade are whitewashed.

Sealing of Masonry
Post-construction damp proof course (dpc), Evangelical Church in Scheidt

Following moisture damage that became apparent due to flaking interior plaster, the moisture content of the masonry was examined and the moisture migration analyzed. Based on this, it was decided to install a traditional post-construction damp proof course (dpc) using WEBAC 1403—a proven method for sealing against capillary rising damp.

The work was carried out comprehensively and professionally. Since the renovation, the building has remained permanently dry—the chosen approach has proven to be a sustainable success both technically and economically.
