- Classic Line
The Rent Chamber of Wächtersbach City Palace was built in 1735 under Count Ferdinand Maximilian II as an administrative building for the Count Ysenburg family. The historic building is part of the palace and brewery complex in Wächtersbach and, following the count’s family’s departure in 1942, has been used for various purposes, including by the Wächtersbach Brewery and a local health insurance company.

Since 2015, the Rentkammer, together with the adjacent brewery site—which spans approximately 71,000 square meters—has been owned by the town of Wächtersbach. The goal of the urban development project is to redevelop the site and repurpose the Rentkammer for a forward-looking use. Plans include using the space as a central community hub with event areas and basic medical care services.
As part of the renovation planning, a structural condition analysis was conducted. The focus was on protecting the historic masonry from rising damp. WEBAC 2135 was used to install a post-construction damp proof course (dpc).
WEBAC 2135 is a hydrophobic silane injection cream for sealing against capillary rising damp. The material is particularly suitable for the renovation of historic buildings and can also be used on masonry that is heavily saturated with moisture. The injection permanently reduces capillary moisture transport within the masonry.
The post-construction damp proof course (dpc) represents a solution that preserves the building’s fabric and provides long-term effectiveness, meeting the requirements of the historic structure while simultaneously laying the groundwork for the planned new use of the Rentkammer.

Injection Silanes
WEBAC 2135 is a WTA-certified, hydrophobic silane injection cream. The active ingredient penetrates capillaries and pores, curing to form a water-repellent barrier while preserving the masonry’s breathability. It is used to create a post-construction damp proof course (dpc) against capillary rising damp in heavily dampened masonry and provides lasting protection for the building structure against moisture damage.
