PU Injection Foam Resins
WEBAC® 157
- Classic Line
The effectiveness of a post-construction damp proof course using PU injection resins was tested under real conditions in an approximately 80-year-old building in Tangermünde. The measure was intended to permanently prevent moisture ingress through capillary rise in the brickwork. The damage was assessed by an engineering firm and included both the removal of masonry samples for moisture and salt content analysis and moisture measurements using microwave technology.

The basement masonry of the building exhibited high moisture penetration up to the saturation point, as well as a significant accumulation of salts harmful to masonry. The joints were cracked, the masonry was inconsistent, and it was riddled with cavities/voids—conditions typical of older buildings that cannot be adequately replicated under laboratory conditions.
For waterproofing, two barrier layers were installed in May 2003 in the first and third courses of masonry above the floor. PU injection foam resins were used to fill the voids, and PU injection resins from WEBAC were used for waterproofing. One year after the injection, a follow-up inspection of the measure was conducted: The same wall areas as before the renovation were re-examined for moisture distribution. This revealed a significant reduction in the degree of moisture penetration—from an original 50% to over 90% down to values below 10%.
The successful reduction in moisture under real-world conditions confirms that a post-construction damp proof course (dpc) using PU injection resins works reliably even in masonry with numerous voids, high salt content, and water saturation.
PU Injection Foam Resins
WEBAC 157 is an elastic PU injection foam resin (SPU) with a very fine-pored foam structure. Upon contact with water, this low-viscosity material forms a surface-tight, adaptable foam. It is suitable for temporarily closing, sealing, and filling cracks, cavities/voids, and gaps in masonry, concrete, and natural stone—e.g., in shaft construction and water management structures—and can also be used where there is limited movement of structural components.
PU Injection Resins
WEBAC 1404 is a low-viscosity PU injection resin that offers exceptional cost-effectiveness. In the presence of moisture, it exhibits only a very slight tendency to foam and cures into a volume-stable resin that seals the capillaries in the masonry. The resin is suitable both as a post-construction damp proof course (dpc) and for filling voids in masonry with high porosity, such as quarry stone.
